Can You Feel the Love Tonight – Elton John

Follow and Support the creator above

Can You Feel the Love Tonight is a Disney song for the animated film “The Lion King”. The song was composed by the famous English musician Elton John and the lyrics was made by Tim Rice. In March 1995, the song won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 67th Academy Awards.

The song reached No. 14 in UK singles chart and No. 4 in US Billboard Hot 100 while it hit the No. 1 spot in Canada and France.

In 2003, a remixed version was included in Special Edition soundtrack of The Lion King and it was sung by Elton John. The song was planned to be sung only by Timon and Pumbaa, but Elton John disliked the comical nature of the concept. John declared that “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” was meant to follow “Disney’s tradition of great love songs”, and that it could “express the lions’ feelings for each other far better than dialogue could”.

There’s a calm surrender
To the rush of day
When the heat of a rolling wind
Can be turned away
An enchanted moment
And it sees me through
It’s enough for this restless warrior
Just to be with you
And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It’s enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it’s laid to rest?
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
There’s a time for everyone
If they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope
Moves us all in turn
There’s a rhyme and reason
To the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager
Beats in time with yours
And can you feel the love tonight?
It is where we are
It’s enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it’s laid to rest?
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
It’s enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
